"Loki" Season 2 welcomes a fresh face, Brad Wolfe, also known as Hunter X-05, previously a hunter for the TVA. The character is now flourishing as a renowned actor on Earth and has starred in a thriller titled "Zaniac."

But, Marvel buffs, don’t get too excited! The show's director, Dan Deleeuw, cautions that this on-screen version might not be the one you're familiar with from the comic books.

In the fascinating world of Marvel, comic lovers know Zaniac as a sinister entity created by Doug Moench and Keith Pollard in 1982's Thor #319. Zaniac, manipulated by the whims of Dormammu, infiltrates various hosts, transforming one, Tom Malverne, into the notorious serial killer, Jack the Ripper.

Later on, actor Brad Wolfe, playing a fictionalized Zaniac in a slasher film, falls prey to Zaniac's control, gaining extraordinary abilities but tragically losing his sanity in the process. He becomes a formidable opponent for Thor, who teams up with TVA agent, Justice Peace, to halt his dangerous escapades.

In "Loki," however, Zaniac is merely a characterization in Brad Wolfe's starring performance. While Deleeuw acknowledges these comic references, he hints that viewers shouldn't expect the villainous Zaniac they know from the comics. According to him, within the multiverse, Brad Wolfe's timeline hasn't ventured into the evil version that fans are accustomed to.

In addition to debuting Brad Wolfe, Season 2 of "Loki" also saw the introduction of Ouroboros, a character played by Ke Huy Quan, who quickly became well-loved by the audience. He works as a tech expert for the TVA, but some fans have grown suspicious of him for preserving his memory, unlike his colleagues under He Who Remains.

So strap in – the rest of the season promises to keep us on our toes! Future episodes of "Loki" Season 2 will continue to unravel every Thursday on Disney+ until November 9.
