James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, has assured fans that recent set photo leaks from the upcoming Superman film won't spoil the experience. In response to fans' concerns on Threads, Gunn explained that these leaks were anticipated and won't reveal any significant plot details. The movie, previously titled Superman: Legacy, will feature a variety of DC heroes and villains and is set to premiere on July 11, 2025. Pivotal characters include David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern. Other notable characters such as Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, and Metamorpho will also appear. This film marks the beginning of the rebooted DC Universe's Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters.

The new Superman film will feature David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and María Gabriela as The Engineer, among others.

Superman: Legacy, now simply titled Superman, is the first movie in the new DCU’s Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters. The film aims to reboot the franchise with a fresh take but isn't an origin story. Directed by James Gunn, it's set to release on July 11, 2025, and will include appearances by several DC heroes and villains, setting the stage for future DCU projects. An animated series called Creature Commandos will kick off the new universe in December 2024.
