Inside Out 2 Launches Digitally This Month

Aug 08, 2024 2:00 PM

Inside Out 2 is set to release digitally on August 20, 2024, followed by a physical edition on September 20, 2024. The animated film, which achieved record-breaking box office success as the highest-grossing animated film of all time, will be available on platforms such as Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home. A streaming release on Disney+ has not yet been confirmed, although Pixar's Pete Docter hinted at a potential September date based on the 100-day release window. Physical copies will be offered in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats, including a limited edition Collectible Steelbook. Bonus features will highlight new emotions and additional content like deleted scenes. IGN’s review scored the film a 7/10, noting that while it has clever concepts, it lacks the emotional depth of its predecessor.

When does Inside Out 2 come out on Disney+?

As of now, there is no confirmed release date for Inside Out 2 on Disney+, but it is expected based on past release patterns following the 100-day window mentioned by Pixar's Pete Docter, likely around September 22, 2024.

Inside Out 2 is the sequel to the beloved 2015 Pixar film, Inside Out, which explored the emotions of a young girl named Riley as she navigates life changes. The original film was celebrated for its innovative storytelling and emotional resonance, making it differ from typical animated features. Inside Out 2 aims to expand on that unique premise by introducing new emotions and exploring Riley’s experiences as she grows older, although early reviews suggest it may not fully capture the magic of the original.
