Jan 18, 2024 9:11 PM

Microsoft and MachineGames have announced "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle," which is set to release later this year on Xbox Series X and S, PC, and will also be available on Xbox Game Pass. The game, developed by the team behind the modern Wolfenstein series, has been officially revealed along with its title, which had previously been leaked. "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" will have a first-person perspective that shifts to third-person in certain scenarios, such as cutscenes or climbing sequences. Resembling a young Harrison Ford, the game's protagonist is voiced by Troy Baker, best known as Joel from "The Last of Us" series.

Set between the events of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "The Last Crusade," the story begins with Indiana Jones at Marshall College, confronting a burly thief stealing a relic. This leads Indy to travel to locations like Vatican City, Egypt, and the Himalayas. Combat includes gunfights, melee brawls, and the use of Indy's iconic whip, while puzzles will be a core element of the gameplay experience. A specific release date for "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" is yet to be disclosed.

When is "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" expected to launch?

The game is slated for release later this year, although an exact date has not yet been provided.

"Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" joins an esteemed lineage of games featuring the iconic archaeologist, Indiana Jones. Traditionally, these titles blend action-adventure gameplay with puzzle-solving, reflecting the adventurous spirit of the film series. With the involvement of MachineGames, known for revitalizing the "Wolfenstein" franchise with a more narrative-driven approach, expectations are high for a game that captures the excitement and exploration synonymous with the Indiana Jones brand. Troy Baker's involvement as the voice of Indy further aligns the game with top-tier storytelling, promising an engaging narrative experience for players and fans.

MachineGames stepping in to helm Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has me expecting a narrative punch on par with their Wolfenstein work, which should mesh well with the puzzle-solving, whip-cracking Indy vibe we all dig. Getting Troy Baker to voice the man himself That's like the cherry on top of an already hype-inducing sundae—can't wait to see how it all plays out in-game.

Definitely digging the blend of first and third-person perspectives in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle—it's a fresh twist that could bring the best of both worlds to our gaming screens. And with Troy Baker on board, I'm betting the narrative's going to have us as hooked as Indy's whip 🏺🎮✨
