EA Sports FC 24 was the top-selling game in Europe in September, according to data shared by GSD on Games Industry, which covered both physical and digital sales excluding figures from Nintendo and 505 Games. This football game serves as the spiritual sequel to the FIFA series after Electronic Arts and FIFA made the joint decision to cease their collaboration, resulting in the rebranding of the series from this year onwards.

Starfield, the new game from Bethesda, occupied second place in the European sales rankings, trailed by NBA 2K24, The Crew Motorfest, and Mortal Kombat 1. The data indicates that the PlayStation 5 continues to lead in terms of sales in Europe, with a 175% surge in console sales compared to the same period last year. Interestingly, it was previously reported that Starfield was the top-selling game in the United States.

Reviewing for EA Sports FC 24, Lars Cornelis gave a score of 7, remarking that "the game, in every way aside from the name, is 'just' a new FIFA, but one that we finally play with pleasure again. The smoother animations are the ultimate lubricant addressing the biggest pain point of recent years."
