The upcoming PlayStation 5 game, Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition, will be released as a two-disc set, marking it as one of the first PS5 games to be issued in this format. This revelation came from a scan of the game case's back cover. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, due to be released next year, will also be delivered on two discs. The Complete Edition, which will cost 59.99 euros, contains:
- The main game
- An expansion called Burning Shores
- A digital soundtrack
- A digital art book
- The first volume of a digital comic
- Additional poses and facial paint for photo mode
- Various in-game extras. Set to be released on PlayStation 5 tomorrow, the PC version of the game will also be launched on the Steam and Epic Games Store platforms early in 2024. This will be the game's debut on PC, although its predecessor, Horizon Zero Dawn, is already available on the platform. Reviewers have broadly praised the new offering. Ron Vorstermans from Gamer.nl gave Horizon Forbidden West a rating of 9, complimenting its improvements over the previous iteration in almost every aspect. However, Lars Cornelis noted that the Burning Shores expansion was rather lacklustre and there was a sense that more could have been done with the tectonically unstable Los Angeles setting.
