Hitman Dev Drops Conor McGregor Content After Court Ruling

Nov 25, 2024 3:06 PM

IO Interactive, the developer of Hitman: World of Assassination, has announced they will be removing all content featuring Conor McGregor following a recent court ruling in which McGregor was ordered to pay damages after losing a civil case. McGregor's likeness and voice work were part of the Elusive Target mission called The Disruptor, which was included in the game earlier this month. Starting today, IO Interactive will cease collaboration with the athlete and will withdraw all related content from sale. However, existing players will still retain access to any McGregor content they have already purchased. This decision reflects the studio's seriousness regarding the implications of this legal matter. Additionally, IO is actively developing a new James Bond game.
