HELLDIVERS 2 PATCH 1.000.103: PLANET HAZARDS NERFED AND MORE

Mar 20, 2024 10:50 AM

The latest update for Helldivers 2, Patch 1.000.103, brings balance adjustments and bug fixes to the popular PC and PlayStation 5 co-op shooter. This patch primarily nerfs the frequency of planet hazards, including tremors, meteor showers, volcanic activity, fire tornados, and ion storms. Additionally, it addresses the issue of patrols spawning too close to players, which should offer a more fair and enjoyable experience. Despite improvements, the patch does not solve the persistent friend request problem, leaving gamers awaiting further updates.

What changes have been made to planet hazards in Helldivers 2 with the new update?

Planet hazards such as tremors, meteor showers, volcanic activity, fire tornados, and ion storms have had their spawn rates reduced, making them appear less frequently during missions. Other changes include reduced explosion radii, damage, and velocity for meteors, and adjustments to lighting to improve visibility during meteor showers.

Helldivers 2, developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, is a follow-up to the original Helldivers, which was released in 2015. The game is an isometric shooter where players work together as part of the elite 'Helldivers' unit to protect 'Super Earth' from various intergalactic threats. Players can engage in co-op multiplayer, which is a cornerstone of the game design, promoting teamwork and strategic gameplay. Since its launch in February 2024, Helldivers 2 has been well-received, with sales reportedly around three million copies, and continues to grow in popularity among the gaming community.
