Mar 03, 2025 7:28 PM

The classic 8-bit isometric puzzle-platformer Head Over Heels is making a comeback with a remake set to release on PC and Nintendo Switch. This new edition, titled Head Over Heels: Deluxe, will feature modern visuals while preserving the original's charm. Players will once again control the duo, Head and Heels, as they navigate through 500 intricate rooms filled with obstacles, enemies, and a newly added world that includes chickens. Enhanced gameplay mechanics will offer upgraded controls, multiple save points, hints, and different difficulty settings. Fans can also switch to a "classic mode" to experience the nostalgic pixel art and sound of the 1987 original.

What new features can we expect in Head Over Heels: Deluxe?

Head Over Heels: Deluxe will introduce a revamped art style, a new soundtrack, refined controls, three difficulty options, and a new world for players to explore, increasing the total locations to 500. Additionally, a classic mode is available for those who prefer the original visuals and sounds.

Originally developed by Ocean Software in 1987, Head Over Heels became a classic due to its unique gameplay and charming characters. Combining puzzle-solving with platforming elements, the game allowed players to switch between Head and Heels, utilizing their distinct abilities to navigate through various challenges. This remake aims to reignite interest in the franchise, catering to both nostalgic fans and new players alike.
