The gaming world is abuzz with the first glimpse of the highly anticipated Gravity Rush movie at Sony's CES 2024 presentation, sending fans into a frenzy of excitement. Although the official footage has not been posted online, leaked off-screen clips on social media showcase a stunning look into the live-action adaptation, featuring actors in harnesses and motion capture gear performing awe-inspiring stunts. Originally announced in 2022, Gravity Rush's leap from the beloved PlayStation Vita game to the silver screen is being helmed by director Anna Mastro, who is recognized for her work with top musicians.

This revelation comes alongside other major announcements from Sony about adapting several popular PlayStation franchises into films and series. Fans can look forward to adaptations of God of War, Horizon, and a Ghost of Tsushima film, plus recent series based on The Last of Us and Twisted Metal. Sony's partnership with Nintendo extends to a The Legend of Zelda film, which has been teased to be full of adventure and discovery, with Sony Pictures handling global distribution and production costs.

When is the Gravity Rush movie set to be released?

As of now, the release date for the Gravity Rush movie has not been disclosed to the public.

Gravity Rush, initially released in 2012 for PlayStation Vita, has since established itself as a cult classic within the gaming community. Known for its unique gravity-defying gameplay and enchanting storyline, the game was developed by the now-defunct Sony Japan Studio. It received a remastered version for the PlayStation 4 in 2015, followed by a sequel in 2017. With the franchise's dedicated fan base and cinematic potential, the upcoming live-action film adaptation is one of the most highly anticipated video game movies in development.
