Game Fest Shocker: 2024 Announcements Revealed

The 2024 Summer Game Fest has kicked off, showcasing a series of exciting game reveals and trailers. To start, the highly-anticipated Lego Horizon Adventures has been confirmed for PlayStation 5, bringing a family-friendly twist to the Horizon series with co-op play and customization options. Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, launching on September 3, 2024, promises to keep fans entertained after Hogwarts Legacy. For those craving intense action, No More Room in Hell 2 will enter Early Access this Halloween, featuring first-person zombie combat and eight-player co-op. Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is slated for a 2025 release, with a gameplay showcase coming this August.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero will launch on October 11, 2024, featuring destructive gameplay with iconic characters and early character unlocks for pre-orders. Street Fighter 6 is expanding its roster with characters from Fatal Fury, including Terry and Mai, as well as classic characters like M. Bison and Elena in its busy Season 2. Blumhouse Games is entering the market with a variety of horror games, starting with Fear the Spotlight. Meanwhile, Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind brings an old-school beat-em-up style, mixing beat-em-up, FPS, and racing gameplay.

MECHA Break announced a beta test for August, designed by notable creators from Metal Gear and Gundam. Nexon’s free-to-play sci-fi looter shooter, The First Descendant, is set to release on July 2, 2024. Lastly, Alan Wake 2’s first DLC, Night Springs, will be out tomorrow, featuring some surprising connections to Remedy Entertainment’s broader game universe.
