11 Bit Studios has announced a delay for their upcoming survival video game The Alters, moving its release from late 2024 to early 2025. The studio's president emphasized that the delay is necessary to ensure top-notch quality, given the tight production schedule. Set in a hostile environment, players control Jan, a space miner who can create alternate versions of himself, called Alters, to survive on a dangerous planet. The Alters aims to blend survival challenges while exploring themes of decision-making and consequence, drawing inspiration from the studio's acclaimed title, This War of Mine. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, debuting on day one with Xbox Game Pass.

The Alters is a survival game where players assume the role of Jan, who crash-lands on a hostile planet. To survive, Jan creates alternate versions of himself using a mysterious substance called Rapidium and a Quantum Computer on his mobile base, navigating the challenges of the inhospitable environment.
