Fans of the God of War series can rejoice as Sony has announced the addition of free downloadable content (DLC) coming to God of War: Ragnarok on December 12. Named 'Valhalla', this content acts as an epilogue to the main game’s story, following Kratos's conclusion of the battle against Odin and Atreus’s departure.

The DLC offers a replayable adventure that introduces roguelite mechanics, where players get to further explore Kratos's arsenal in the face of progressively challenging trials. Even upon defeat, players are given another chance to fight, learning and adapting, thereby earning resources for permanent upgrades. Unlike the main game, armor in Valhalla is solely cosmetic, while five levels of difficulty pledge to enhance the reward factor.

Valhalla includes different gameplay settings and allows players to employ various strategies by choosing between glyphs, stats, perks, and runic attacks. Players must complete Sony Santa Monica's flagship title before diving into Valhalla for an unspoiled experience, as this DLC provides a continuation of God of War: Ragnarok’s narrative.
