DC fans can look forward to holiday cheer as the "Merry Little Batman" trailer has just been released, previewing the animated special set to premiere on December 8 on Prime Video. The story follows Damian Wayne, Batman’s son, who discovers a plot to ruin Christmas. With his father busy fighting crime, it's up to Damian to save the holiday. The trailer features classic villains such as The Riddler, Joker, Bane, Penguin, and Mr. Freeze.

The special counts "Regular Show" writer Mike Roth as director, with a cast including Luke Wilson voicing Batman, Yonas Kibreab as Damian, James Cromwell as Alfred, and David Hornsby as the Joker. Writers for the special are Morgan Evans and Jase Ricci, with music by Patrick Stump.

Amazon has also secured the rights to additional DC-related animated series, including "Batman: Caped Crusader" and "Bat-Family," the latter being a direct follow-up to "Merry Little Batman" focusing on the Wayne family. Moreover, this release is a precursor to an adult version of Damian Wayne set to appear in the DC Universe's new chapter within "Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” accompanying other anticipated titles like "Superman: Legacy" and "Creature Commandos."

With its unique approach to the superhero genre and festive theme, "Merry Little Batman" is shaping up to be a special treat for both comic book enthusiasts and casual holiday animation viewers.
