Square Enix has announced the new Pictomancer job class for Final Fantasy 14, set to debut in the upcoming Dawntrail expansion. Unveiled at the Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival in Tokyo, Pictomancers are magical DPS characters adept at long-range combat and utilize a paintbrush to conjure creatures, weapons, and landscapes in battle. There's no prerequisite class, but players must be level 80 to take on the job. The Dawntrail expansion, also known as update 7.0, is expected to release in the summer and will kick off a new storyline on the continent of Tural. It also brings a host of graphical upgrades and new system requirements for the PC version. Besides Pictomancers, the new Viper job was earlier announced, and players will soon be able to choose female characters of the Hrothgar race. The first post-launch update, patch 7.1, will introduce a new Alliance Raid inspired by Final Fantasy 11 and The Arcadion, an eight-player raid, about a month after Dawntrail's release. Additionally, an Xbox beta for Final Fantasy 14 is slated for around February 21, with more details on the Xbox version launch still pending. Fans can also look forward to The Path Infernal, a Final Fantasy 16-themed questline, coming to the game in early April.
