Get ready, Star Wars fans! IGN has just revealed that the highly anticipated Star Wars: Unlimited trading card game by Fantasy Flight Games and Asmodee is set to hit retailers and hobby stores on March 8, 2024. The game will let players choose their favorite Star Wars character to lead a 50-card deck full of heroes, villains, droids, ships, and weapons. The exciting gameplay will occur across two battlefields - one for characters, and the other for space.

Why is this game so cool? The win goes to whoever inflicts 30 damage to their opponent's base, like Cloud City or Jedha, first. Plus, you're not just playing with characters from the movies. This game features characters from the Star Wars universe at large, including the TV series, comics, and video games!

But that's not all. Game designer Danny Schaefer tells us that the game's mechanics were inspired by critically acclaimed card games like Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Hearthstone, and Runeterra, with the best aspects from all of them.

The first Star Wars: Unlimited set, named 'Spark of Rebellion', will have more than 200 cards. One of the standout cards in this set is Mace Windu, nicknamed "Party Crasher", who can attack right after being summoned and keep attacking whenever he defeats a unit.

Upon release, players can get the Spark of Rebellion Two-Player Starter deck for $34.99, or choose to buy Spark of Rebellion Booster Packs for $4.99 each. A week before the launch, you'll also be able to purchase the Spark of Rebellion Prerelease Box for $29.99, equipped with 6 Booster Packs, 2 promo cards, quickstart rules, damage counters, a deckbuilding guide, and a deck box. So for all you Star Wars fans, the force will definitely be with you come March 8, 2024!
