Elden Ring Fans Speedrun to Beat Mohg Before DLC Hits

Thousands of Elden Ring players are hastening to defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood, ahead of the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. According to Steam Achievement data, only 37.8% of players had defeated Mohg by June 12, 2024, but following a reminder from Bandai Namco, this number increased to 39.6%. While this may seem minor, it equates to thousands of players preparing for the DLC. FromSoftware's games, including Dark Souls and Bloodborne, often require players to complete certain in-game challenges to access downloadable content, and Elden Ring is no exception. Despite the potential barrier this poses, Bandai Namco remains confident due to the game's high sales. The new expansion promises a 20-25 hour campaign with new challenges, weapons, and questlines.

Players need to defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood, a significant boss in the game, to gain access to the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
