Dying Light Update Won't Hit Switch; Techland Shuns Switch 2

Jun 25, 2025 8:03 PM

Techland has officially announced that the much-anticipated Dying Light: Retouched update will not be available for Nintendo Switch players. Set to enhance the visual and audio experience of the popular zombie parkour game, the update will roll out for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms while Switch users are left out. This decision is particularly disappointing for fans who hoped to see the graphical improvements and remastered audio on their consoles. The studio confirmed that there are currently no plans for a Dying Light: Retouched release on Switch or even a potential upgrade for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

This update is a significant offering for Dying Light, a game that has continued to attract players since its initial launch. Notably, the original Dying Light made its debut on the Switch in 2021 with the Platinum Edition, but it faced hurdles, including a ban in Germany, which limited its availability in several regions. Meanwhile, the upcoming Dying Light: The Beast, a spinoff featuring protagonist Kyle Crane, is set to launch exclusively on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X | S on August 22, 2025, leaving Nintendo fans once again without new content.

Will Dying Light: Retouched ever come to Nintendo Switch?

No, Techland has confirmed that the Dying Light: Retouched update is not planned for Nintendo Switch, and there are no announcements regarding a potential release for the console's next iteration.
