Jun 12, 2024 2:26 PM

The first trailer for "Paddington in Peru," the highly anticipated third installment in the Paddington film series, has been released. Paddington 3 sees the lovable bear traveling to Peru with the Brown Family to visit Aunt Lucy, only to find she has embarked on a mysterious quest. Without director Paul King, who's now working on "Wonka," Dougal Wilson takes the helm for his feature film debut. The film features returning cast members and new additions Olivia Coleman and Antonio Banderas. Set to release on November 8, fans have a little more time to wait.

Who is the new director of Paddington 3?

Dougal Wilson is the new director of "Paddington in Peru," making his feature film directorial debut. He is known for his work on music videos like Busted's "Year 3000" and Coldplay's "Life in Technicolor II."

"Paddington" first debuted in 2014, quickly endearing itself to audiences with its heartwarming story and charming visuals. The sequel, released in 2017, received widespread acclaim and solidified Paddington's place as a beloved character in modern cinema. Both films were directed by Paul King, whose storytelling and visual style contributed significantly to their success. The shift to Dougal Wilson for the third film introduces a new creative direction, but the anticipation suggests strong confidence in this fresh leadership.

It's exciting to see Dougal Wilson take the reins for Paddington in Peru, given his track record with visually captivating music videos. While it'll be tough to match Paul King's magic, the addition of Olivia Coleman and Antonio Banderas certainly piques my interest.
