Dragon Ball FighterZ Dev teases Double Dragon Revival

Double Dragon Revive, developed by Yuke's and published by Arc System Works, has been announced as a new 3D game in the esteemed beat 'em up series. The game maintains the classic belt-scroll action gameplay, featuring weapon pickups and environmental interactions. Double Dragon Revive is planned for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Steam in 2025, with physical editions for PS4 and PS5. Notably, there will be no versions for Xbox One or Nintendo Switch.

The Double Dragon series, beginning in 1987, has been influential in the beat 'em up genre. Games like Final Fight and Streets of Rage were inspired by its success. Arc System Works, who acquired the rights in 2015, previously collaborated with original director Yoshihisa Kishimoto on Double Dragon 4 and also integrated characters into River City Girls 2. The series continues to be celebrated by retro game enthusiasts around the globe.

Double Dragon fans have a lot to look forward to with the new 3D entry from Yuke's and Arc System Works. It's awesome to see the classic beat 'em up action maintained while getting a modern twist; 2025 can't come soon enough

Seeing Double Dragon making a 3D comeback is pretty exciting, especially with Yuke's and Arc System Works at the helm; it’s a nice blend of nostalgia and fresh gameplay. It's a bummer for Xbox One and Switch owners, but next-gen and Steam fans are in for a treat
