Dragon Age: Veilguard - Pansexual Companions Confirmed

Jun 11, 2024 3:00 PM

BioWare has confirmed that in the upcoming Dragon Age: The Veilguard, all companions will be pansexual, allowing players to romance any character regardless of their own character's gender or race. This new approach differs from previous Dragon Age titles where characters had specific sexual orientations. Game Director Corinne Busche emphasizes that the companions are not "playersexual" but genuinely pansexual, reflecting in their backstories and relationships within the game. Players can start flirting with companions early on, but the deeper romantic connections develop later in the game. The game will feature explicit content, staying true to BioWare’s tradition in the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series. The release is set for this fall, and fans are eager to see how these relationships unfold.

How will romance work in Dragon Age: The Veilguard?

Players will be able to romance any companion regardless of the player character’s gender or race. Romance options start early in the game, but deeper relationships and explicit scenes develop later in the storyline.

The Dragon Age series has been a significant player in the RPG genre, famous for its deep storytelling and rich character development since its debut in 2009. Dragon Age: Inquisition, the third game in the series, won multiple Game of the Year awards in 2014, setting high expectations for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. This new installment continues the tradition of complex character interactions and presents an opportunity for players to form meaningful in-game relationships.
