Dog speedruns MLB on SNES: Most wholesome thing today

A dog named Peanut Butter, a Shiba Inu, successfully completed a speedrun of Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System during the Summer Games Done Quick 2024 event in Minneapolis. Hosted by Games Done Quick, the event raised money for Doctors Without Borders. Guided by his owner, JSR, Peanut Butter hit a dramatic walk-off two-run home run to finish the game in 29 minutes and 45 seconds. The achievement was met with excitement from the crowd and celebrated by his proud owner. Furthermore, Games Done Quick hit a milestone, raising a lifetime total of $50 million during the event.

JSR explained that training Peanut Butter to play involved teaching him to press buttons on command using treats as motivation. Despite dogs having short attention spans, repeated daily training helped Peanut Butter master the necessary skills to hold down a button long enough to play the game.
