Disney Cancels Marvel’s Blade Movie Set for 2025 Release

Oct 22, 2024 5:16 PM

Disney has officially removed the highly-anticipated Marvel movie "Blade" from its 2025 release schedule amid ongoing production issues. The film, set to star Mahershala Ali as Blade, was originally scheduled for a November 2025 release but has been replaced by "Predator: Badlands." The delays come after the exit of director Yann Demange, marking the second time the project has lost a director, as Bassam Tariq also stepped away due to scheduling conflicts. Marvel Studios is now reportedly revising the script, aiming to avoid rushing the production process, which has already faced significant setbacks and delays, including the writers' strike in 2023 and script revisions. The film's future remains uncertain, even as original Blade actor Wesley Snipes has expressed support for the reboot.

The release date for the "Blade" movie is currently unknown as it has been removed from the 2025 schedule. The project is undergoing significant changes, and Marvel Studios aims to take the necessary time to ensure the film meets expectations.
