Cyberpunk 2077 on PC Now Supports AMD FSR3 – Here’s What’s New

Sep 12, 2024 1:27 PM

Cyberpunk 2077 has received a significant update as Patch 2.13 rolls out for the PC version, now introducing support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 with Frame Generation. This new feature improves visual performance and enables players to experience high-resolution gameplay with faster frame rates. The update also allows users to enable both FSR3 and Intel Xe Super Sampling 1.3 simultaneously, providing more flexibility in graphics settings. Although cross-progression is maintained between platforms, the update only applies to PC, while the developer, CD Projekt, continues to shift focus towards future projects, including a sequel known as Orion.

What is AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 and how does it enhance Cyberpunk 2077?

Amd FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 is an image upscaling and frame generation technology that enhances visual fidelity while increasing frame rates in games like Cyberpunk 2077. It allows players to enjoy smoother gameplay and improved graphics performance by generating additional frames and upscaling lower resolution images.

Cyberpunk 2077, developed by CD Projekt Red, initially launched in December 2020 and faced numerous performance issues, particularly on last-generation consoles. Following substantial updates and the release of its only expansion, Phantom Liberty, in September 2023, CD Projekt has gradually refocused its development efforts. The company is now looking ahead to new projects within the franchise, especially the anticipated sequel, codenamed Orion, pivoting towards emerging technologies for enhanced player experiences.
