The latest update for Final Fantasy 14, version 6.5, is now available and provides players the opportunity to complete the entire main story and its expansions solo. Introduced by Square Enix last year, the 'Duty Support' feature in the MMORPG allows players to navigate the game with the help of computer-controlled teammates, rather than human players. While initially only for the main game, over time, the company expanded this feature to include the expansions, with the 6.5 patch (named 'Growing Light') adding the final dungeons.
The 'Growing Light' update introduces much more to the game such as new main quests, a new dungeon named Lunar Subterrane, a new mission known as The Abyssal Fracture, a new unreal trial (Singularity Reactor), and a new alliance raid (Myths of the Realm 3). Adjustments have also been made to the game's jobs, PvP options, mounts, and emotes.
Coming soon to Xbox Series X and S in the spring of 2024, Final Fantasy 14 currently is playable on PS5, PS4, and PC. Notably, an open beta for the game will be available sometime later this year. Additionally, a Japanese player recently made headlines by unlocking all 2751 achievements in the game, a feat known for its time-consuming nature.
