Jul 08, 2024 3:52 PM

Cities: Skylines 2 has faced continuous struggles since its launch last year, and the situation isn't improving. Console ports for the game have been delayed indefinitely due to persistent performance issues. Developer Colossal Order announced that it hasn't met the stability and performance targets for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions. The game initially faced severe criticism, causing its Steam rating to drop to "mostly negative." Although it has improved slightly since then, its current status is still "mixed."

Why are the console ports of Cities: Skylines 2 delayed?n

The console ports of Cities: Skylines 2 are delayed because the game hasn't met the necessary stability and performance targets. The developers need more time to address these issues before releasing on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Cities: Skylines 2, launched by Paradox Interactive and developed by Colossal Order, is a city-building simulation that follows the success of its predecessor, Cities: Skylines. The original game gained massive popularity for its in-depth mechanics and user-friendly modding capabilities, setting high expectations for the sequel. Despite these challenges, the development team is dedicated to resolving these issues to match the high reputation of the first game.
