Gaming industry news reports that ByteDance, the company behind TikTok, is allegedly withdrawing from the video game sector and considering selling its gaming brand Nuverse, which publishes the popular online card game Marvel Snap. Despite amassing a dedicated fan base, Marvel Snap has apparently not achieved commercial success, leading to concerns among the gaming community regarding its future.

Marvel Snap's developer, Second Dinner, along with its publisher Nuverse, have reassured fans through social media that the game will continue to thrive regardless of any shifts within Nuverse's structure. This comes amid announcements of a potential divestment from launched titles and the discontinuation of work on unreleased games, affecting hundreds of employees.

Second Dinner, founded by former Hearthstone director Ben Brode and other Blizzard veterans, developed Marvel Snap in partnership with Marvel. The game, which launched in 2022, is available across mobile and PC platforms and features distinct gameplay reminiscent of Hearthstone but with a Marvel twist. Players are looking for clarity on what the future holds for the game, with hopes that it may find a new publishing home if necessary.

Marvel Snap has confirmed that despite the reported changes, the game will maintain its operations and aims to ensure an uninterrupted and prosperous experience for its players.
