Blue Protocol Makes a Comeback with Star Resonance This Year

Blue Protocol is making a comeback with a new title called Blue Protocol: Star Resonance, set for release in 2025. Originally terminated last year, the anime-inspired MMORPG will return under the care of Bokura, a developer that includes some members of the original Blue Protocol team. With gameplay reminiscent of its predecessor, players can expect action combat and an open world to explore, launching on PC and mobile platforms in Europe, North America, and Latin America.

Initially announced for China, the reimagined Blue Protocol is a hopeful revival for fans who missed out on the original when it was shut down. Bandai Namco previously canceled Blue Protocol's worldwide launch, expressing disappointment in not being able to deliver the game globally. Now, with Star Resonance, there’s renewed optimism, as this iteration retains the engaging gameplay elements that excited players, presenting a fresh chance for both new and returning players.
