Batman and Geiger Team Up in Exciting New Variant Covers
May 15, 2025 1:00 PMDC Comics has announced an exciting crossover between Batman and Geoff Johns' Ghost Machine's Geiger, featuring unique variant covers. This collaboration allows Gary Frank, the artist behind Geiger, to illustrate a cover for Batman #163, while Jim Lee, the current artist and chief creative officer at DC, will create a cover for Geiger #19. This marks Jim Lee’s first artwork for an Image Comics title since 2011. The covers share a visual theme, promising a compelling aesthetic when displayed together. Batman #163, which will wrap up the ongoing series, is set for release in August 2025, and Geiger #19 follows in October 2025, with a new Batman series launching soon after.
Will there be a Batman crossover with the Unnamed Universe?Currently, there are no plans for Batman to crossover into the Unnamed Universe, but the unique covers signify a creative partnership between the two worlds that fans may hope to see expand in the future.
Batman, a cultural icon created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in 1939. Gotham's Dark Knight has since become one of the most enduring characters in comic book history, known for his darker themes and rich storytelling. The Ghost Machine imprint, led by Geoff Johns, aims to innovate within the comic landscape, adding fresh narratives and artistic endeavors, thus this crossover shines a new spotlight on both the Batman universe and the Unnamed Universe.
