Avowed Update 1.4 Adds Arachnophobia Mode & 2025 Plans

Obsidian Entertainment has unveiled details regarding the 1.4 update for their fantasy RPG, Avowed, along with a comprehensive roadmap for 2025. The highlight of update 1.4 is the introduction of an Arachnophobia mode, which replaces giant spiders with friendlier-looking blobs, catering to those with arachnophobia. Alongside this, the update enhances gameplay with new features like mouse and keyboard support for Xbox, crafting improvements, and a new party camp mechanic. Looking ahead, the roadmap reveals three major updates slated for 2025. The summer update promises new NPC interactions, cooking enhancements, and additional weapons, while the fall update will introduce features like New Game Plus and a photo mode.

Obsidian also assures players from Korean and Japanese regions that localized versions of the game are in development, along with ongoing support for French-speaking players. Avowed is available on PC and Xbox Series X|S and also offered through Game Pass.
