Ark: Survival Ascended, the Unreal Engine 5 remake of Ark: Survival Evolved by Studio Wildcard, has been making headlines following its problematic launch. Studio Wildcard withdrew the Windows PC version from PVP crossplay on official servers due to rampant cheating issues. The developers are collaborating with Microsoft and BattleEye to implement enhanced anti-cheat systems before Windows clients can rejoin crossplay.
The game initially released on PC and Xbox, but quickly drew player criticism for speedhacks and other exploits. In response to the health of the gaming experience, the developers apologized to the PC gaming community and projected a return to crossplay PVP servers early the following week.
Despite a successful Steam launch with over 600,000 sales, Ark: Survival Ascended has a mixed reception with a 58% Steam user review rating, primarily due to performance problems. The launch of the game on PlayStation 5 is expected with a join failure issue that Studio Wildcard intends to address in a subsequent patch.
Additionally, the Survival Ascended's Turkey Trial Thanksgiving event was postponed to ensure compatibility across platforms and provide a full gaming experience. The event is now rescheduled for December 8th.
Gamers eagerly awaiting the PlayStation 5 release and the Turkey Trial event can look forward to the patches and updates that aim to improve their gaming experience on Ark: Survival Ascended.
