Apr 15, 2024 8:55 AM

The recent release of the live-action adaptation of the Fallout series by Prime Video has significantly boosted the player counts across all Fallout video games. Fallout 4 witnessed a tripling of its player count to a peak of 83,491 players over the weekend following the release, marking a stark increase from the 24,000 peak from the previous week. Fallout 76, despite its rocky start at launch, hit a new all-time high concurrent player count of 39,455. At the same time, Fallout: New Vegas also experienced an uptick, reaching 19,505 players at its peak. Even the earlier titles such as Fallouts 1 through 3 have seen an increase in engagement, with Fallout 3 nearing 7,000 players and Fallout 2 hitting a more modest all-time high of 1,062 players. Gamers interested in diving back into Fallout 4 may consider waiting, as a next-gen upgrade for the game is scheduled to arrive later this month.

Is Fallout 76 worth playing now?

Despite its initial poor reception, Fallout 76 has seen a resurgence in popularity following the release of the Fallout TV series. With the game achieving an all-time high in player count recently, it appears that many players are finding value in exploring and rebuilding the wasteland with friends. If you're a fan of the Fallout universe, it might be a good time to give Fallout 76 another try.

Fallout, originally a video game series developed by Interplay Entertainment and later by Bethesda Game Studios, has seen numerous iterations since its inception. The series is best known for its open-world exploration, post-apocalyptic setting, and the blend of first-person shooter and role-playing elements. This surge in players returning to the various Fallout titles comes as a direct result of the heightened interest generated by the live-action TV adaptation available on Prime Video, serving to expand the Fallout franchise's visibility and fan base even further.
