Review

One Piece Odyssey: Deluxe Edition celebrates the 25th anniversary of the beloved franchise with a charming RPG adventure that invites players back into the world of Monkey.D.Luffy and his crew. By reuniting with the iconic Straw Hat Pirates on a treacherous journey through a stormy island, fans are treated to the delightful storytelling and character-driven interactions they crave. However, while the Deluxe Edition bundles all of the DLC and is a great opportunity for new and returning players alike, it does suffer from some serious technical hitches. Load times can be painfully long, and the graphics, although decent, do not shine as brightly on the Switch when compared to other platforms. As much as One Piece enthusiasts will appreciate this port, it's hard to overlook some of the limitations it brings with it. Grab it if you're a fan, but be prepared for some compromises along the way.

Background information

Reviewers have had mixed feelings about One Piece Odyssey: Deluxe Edition. TouchArcade rated it 80, emphasizing that this Switch port, complete with DLC, is a solid value for One Piece fans. GamingTrend also noted the game's decent performance while highlighting the tedious load times. However, GamersRD, while appreciating the game's charm, pointed out ongoing graphics issues. Finally, Everyeye.it cautioned potential players about the technical compromises of the Switch version, recommending it mainly for those unable to play the game on other platforms.
