Franchise mode has more depth and presents its systems more cleanly, while the overall presentation feels livelier and more like a proper broadcast. For players who care about long seasons and team building, that alone makes a strong case for jumping in. ## The rough edges remain Even so, this is still very much a yearly sports release with familiar frustrations. Load times can drag, the interface is occasionally awkward, and not every mode benefits equally from the improvements. Bugs and online requirements in some areas also keep the experience from feeling fully polished. ## Verdict All told, this is a clear improvement and probably the best Madden in years, but it still falls short of being the complete turnaround the series has been chasing.
