The Witcher 3 Remastered hotfix 5.01b now out on PS5 and PS5 Pro

• The reported patch notes are just one line: “various stability improvements to help ensure a more reliable experience”.
• The official The Witcher account says the Nintendo Switch 2 patch is still planned and should reach all users as soon as possible.

What happened

CD Projekt Red has rolled out hotfix 5.01b for The Witcher 3 Remastered on PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro. According to the information shared, the patch notes are very short and are limited to stability improvements intended to make the game more reliable. In the supplied tweet text, that update is explicitly tied to the PS5 versions, and Eurogamer reports that this is the full extent of the hotfix notes.

The same reporting also mentions a separate Nintendo Switch 2 patch. The official The Witcher account said CD Projekt Red is working to get that update to all users as soon as possible. Eurogamer adds that the Switch 2 update is meant to improve image clarity and sharpness, which sets it apart from the PS5 hotfix, which is focused mainly on stability.

According to the supplied context, the remaster launched about two weeks before this hotfix. The same reporting describes the release as a free, major update that arrived 11 years after the original launch of The Witcher 3. That places hotfix 5.01b in a period where CD Projekt Red is already rolling out multiple platform-specific fixes shortly after release.

Background

The Witcher 3 Remastered is the remastered version of the game that, according to the supplied context, arrived 11 years after the original release. The sources also say the remaster came out about two weeks before this hotfix. That makes it a relatively recent release that is already being updated with a small stability fix on PS5 and PS5 Pro.

The available information suggests CD Projekt Red is rolling out multiple platform-specific updates. For PS5 and PS5 Pro, hotfix 5.01b is a short stability patch, while the Switch 2 patch is mentioned separately and, according to Eurogamer, is aimed at visual improvements. The tweet text included in the source describes the hotfix 5.01b notes as “various stability improvements to help ensure a more reliable experience,” indicating that the update is limited in scope.

The Switch 2 update has a different focus from the PS5 hotfix. The official The Witcher account says the patch has yet to arrive for all users, and Eurogamer links it to improvements in image clarity and sharpness. No exact release date is given for that Switch 2 patch in the supplied context, only that it is still planned and should follow as soon as possible.

The source context also says the remaster is a free, major update that arrived 11 years after The Witcher 3 originally launched. That detail helps frame the timing of the hotfix: the game has only been available in remastered form for a short time, yet CD Projekt Red is already pushing maintenance and platform-specific corrections. The available information does not include a full official changelog for hotfix 5.01b, so the stability note remains the only confirmed patch line in the source text.
