What happened
Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Tekken 8 centered on Roger Jr. The trailer ties the character’s arrival to two fixed dates: early access on November 11, 2026, and a full release on November 16, 2026. That means the publisher is rolling out this Tekken 8 update in two stages.
The trailer appeared during Evo France 2026. Based on the available information, that is when Bandai Namco shared the new Tekken 8 footage, with Roger Jr. as the main reveal. The video was published by Bandai Namco Entertainment America, and the description says the trailer mainly focuses on Roger, while also including a short teaser for Yujiro Hanma.
In the same trailer, Bandai Namco also showed an early teaser for Yujiro Hanma, the character from Baki the Grappler. That brief reveal names Yujiro as a future DLC addition for Tekken 8, but does not provide a release date or gameplay details. The trailer description says the teaser is only a short glimpse, showing Yujiro’s signature grin and flexibility.
According to the announcement, a more detailed reveal for Yujiro Hanma will follow later. Bandai Namco is planning a new trailer for the Tekken World Tour Finals on January 17, 2027. Based on the current information, that is the next confirmed date for more details about Yujiro.

Background
Yujiro Hanma comes from the Baki the Grappler manga and anime series and is presented in the trailer as a guest character for Tekken 8. The current information does not include a release date for Yujiro, only a later trailer presentation on January 17, 2027. The source description also calls him one of the most notable anime characters in the teaser, but the actual announcement remains limited to a short first look.
The teaser for Yujiro is brief, but it does show two recognizable traits: his infamous grin and extreme flexibility. For now, the reveal is limited to a visual introduction, with no confirmation of his moveset, playstyle, or a concrete DLC schedule. The available source information therefore only confirms that Yujiro is being shown as a future addition, not when he will become playable.
Roger Jr. is the character for whom Bandai Namco is sharing concrete timing. The combination of early access on November 11, 2026, and a full release on November 16, 2026, makes it clear that this Tekken 8 update is being rolled out in two steps. The trailer itself was published by Bandai Namco Entertainment America, and the description refers to Roger as the central subject, while the name Roger Jr. is used in the announcement and trailer context for the fighter being highlighted in Tekken 8.
The planned Yujiro trailer on January 17, 2027, lines up with the Tekken World Tour Finals. That makes the date the next fixed anchor point in Tekken 8’s marketing. For now, Roger Jr. has concrete release dates, while Yujiro Hanma is only confirmed as a future DLC character with a later reveal on the calendar.
