Steam gives Drakin Armoury Pack for Rotwood and Scrubdesignz liveries for MXGP 26 away for free for a limited time
Steam is reportedly offering two free-to-keep DLC items for a limited time: Rotwood’s Drakin Armoury Pack and MXGP 26’s Scrubdesignz liveries.
The promotion is described in the report as a free-to-keep deal rather than a free weekend. That means the DLC can reportedly be added to a library without an immediate purchase while the offer is active.
The available information also suggests both items require the base game. At the time of writing, the live status of the offer, regional conditions, and any price or discount changes have not been independently confirmed in the Steam store itself.
What happened
Game Rant reports that Steam is running a temporary free-to-keep promotion with two DLC items rather than full games. The items in question are the Drakin Armoury Pack for Rotwood and the Scrubdesignz liveries for MXGP 26. In the wider context, the promotion is also linked to a broader set of October giveaways surfaced through Steam backend information, but this article focuses only on these two items.
The offer is said to be available until October 15 at 10:00 a.m. PT, which is 1:00 p.m. ET. According to the same report, both items require the base game, though that has not been independently verified in the live Steam store. The source explicitly notes that these are DLC items and not full games, which sets the promotion apart from a free weekend or a temporary trial.
The report says Rotwood is listed with a 25% discount. MXGP 26 is described as a $50 game that launched on October 1. The external context also includes a Steam store listing and a SteamDB page for MXGP 26 - The official game, which supports the title’s presence on Steam but does not automatically confirm the current promotion status.
The available context also notes that the October 2026 free-to-keep promotion may include multiple giveaways. In the provided external context, one source mentions five confirmed giveaways for Steam’s Free to Keep promo in October 2026, including MXGP 26 - Scrubdesignz Liveries. For this article, however, only the two named DLC items are relevant.

Background
The available information suggests this is not a free weekend, but a promotion that lets DLC be added to a library for free for a limited time. The two items belong to different games: Rotwood and MXGP 26. That makes the deal different from a standard game giveaway, since the base games are still required to use the DLC according to the report.
Rotwood is mentioned in the source with a 25% discount, while MXGP 26 is presented as a recent release with a $50 price tag. The external context includes a Steam store page and SteamDB page for Rotwood, plus a Steam store page, Steam Community page, and SteamDB page for MXGP 26 - The official game. Those references support that both titles are present on Steam and that pricing and product information exist, but they do not automatically confirm that the promotion is active at every moment.
The provided external context also includes an MSN reference discussing Steam’s free-to-keep promotion and multiple October giveaways, including MXGP 26 - Scrubdesigns Liveries and Gear.Club Unlimited 3 content. That fits the picture of Steam running several DLC promotions at once in October 2026. For this article, though, the core focus remains the two named items: the Drakin Armoury Pack for Rotwood and the Scrubdesignz liveries for MXGP 26.
Because the source describes the offer as temporary, the October 15 deadline at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET is the key timing detail. The report also notes that the base-game requirement applies per item, but live store pages can vary by region. MXGP 26’s price and Rotwood’s discount may also change after publication, so checking Steam or SteamDB remains necessary for verification.
