Nvidia, Arm and Microsoft tease a new era of PCs

Nvidia, Arm, and Microsoft’s Windows team have recently shared teasers for what they describe as a “new era of PC.” The campaign appears to be aimed at the introduction of Arm-based Windows PCs with Nvidia chips. An official product announcement is expected in early June 2026.

The history of Arm-based Windows laptops

Hints about Arm-based Windows laptops have been around since 2012. These laptops have been promoted with claims of longer battery life, thinner designs, and smartphone-like efficiency. In May 2024, that push continued with the introduction of Copilot+ PCs, which feature hardware capable of running local AI models.

Coordinated teasers in May 2026

In the final days of May 2026, Nvidia, Arm, and Microsoft shared coordinated teasers across their official social media channels. The posts included geographic coordinates that pointed to the Taipei Music Center. There, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will deliver a keynote on June 1 at 11 a.m. Taipei time. That lines up with 5 a.m. CEST, 8 p.m. PDT on May 31, and 11 a.m. EDT on May 31.

Expected product announcements

Industry speculation points to the long-rumored N1 and N1X laptop processors being unveiled at the event. Reports from early 2026 suggest companies such as Dell and Lenovo are likely to be among the first to use Nvidia’s N1 and N1X chips. Lenovo’s new products based on these system-on-chips (SoCs) are expected to include the IdeaPad Slim 5 14N1V11 and 16N1V11, the Yoga Pro 7 15N1V11 and 15N1X11, as well as the Yoga 9 2-in-1 16N1X11. New configurations are also expected for Lenovo’s Legion 5, Legion 7, and Legion 9 lines, along with a refresh of the Legion T5 desktop PC family later in 2026.
