VIZ Media Officially Kicks Off Production of Black Torch Anime

VIZ Media has officially announced the production of the Black Torch anime adaptation, based on the popular manga by Tsuyoshi Takaki. The announcement came during their panel at the Emerald City Comic Con, where participants were also presented with an exciting trailer featuring the main character Jiro Azuma and his companion, the mononoke Rago. The anime's storyline revolves around Jiro, who hails from a lineage of ninjas, with the ability to communicate with animals. His life transforms dramatically after an encounter with Rago, who turns out to be a legendary mononoke. As ominous forces seek to harness Rago's incredible powers, the Bureau of Espionage intervenes, setting the stage for intense ninja battles.

Black Torch follows Jiro Azuma, a skilled communicator with animals, whose life takes a drastic turn after meeting Rago, a cat with immense powers tied to mononoke lore. Together, they must confront dark entities aiming to exploit Rago's abilities, leading to epic clashes filled with intrigue and action.

Black Torch originally ran in Jump SQ. and Shonen Jump+ from 2017 to 2018 and has garnered a dedicated following for its unique blend of action and supernatural elements.
