Ubisoft giving Skull and Bones free for a week

May 26, 2024 11:30 AM

Remember "Skull and Bones"? Ubisoft is offering everyone the chance to play it for free from May 30 to June 6. This free week allows players to explore all aspects of the game, whether progressing through its main storyline or tackling challenging content with friends. Despite its initial average reviews and poor sales compared to "Sea of Thieves", Ubisoft hopes this trial week might attract new players. Additionally, all achievements and upgrades from the free trial will carry over if you decide to purchase the game later. Also, "Skull and Bones" Season 2 launches on May 28, adding new content for players to enjoy.

What features can players expect during the Skull and Bones free week?

During the free week, players can engage in the full game experience, including progressing through the main storyline and accessing all available content. Any achievements, treasures, and ship upgrades earned will be retained if the game is purchased after the trial.

"Skull and Bones" is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Singapore, focusing on naval warfare and pirate adventures. The game has faced numerous delays and challenges but aims to provide an immersive pirate experience inspired by the golden age of piracy. Comparisons are often made to "Sea of Thieves", another popular pirate game. Ubisoft is likely hoping to replicate the success of games like "No Man's Sky" that turned their fortunes around post-launch with continuous updates and community engagement.

Ubisoft's free week for Skull and Bones is a savvy move to attract players who might've skipped it initially, riding on the success of other redemption stories like No Man's Sky. This could be the perfect hook for those looking for a fresh pirate adventure with all progress carrying over to a purchased copy—definitely worth a sail

Sounds like Ubisoft is taking a page out of the No Man's Sky playbook, giving Skull and Bones a chance to regain its sea legs with this free week trial. If they keep pushing out solid updates, it just might find its own dedicated crew.

It's cool to see Ubisoft giving Skull and Bones a shot at redemption with this free week; it's a smart move to pull in new players, especially with the new season launching. Fingers crossed it gets the No Man's Sky treatment and turns into something special over time
