Turtle Beach Cuts Ties With Dr Disrespect After Twitch Drama

Gaming headset company Turtle Beach has ended its partnership with streamer Guy 'Dr Disrespect' Beahm following allegations that his 2020 ban from Twitch was due to inappropriate messaging with a minor. The partnership spanned years, including multiple deals and a Dr Disrespect-themed headset. Beahm maintains that there was no wrongdoing on his part and that the matter has been legally settled. Despite his statements, both Turtle Beach and co-founded game studio Midnight Society have severed ties with him.

The partnership ended due to allegations that Dr Disrespect's 2020 Twitch ban was linked to inappropriate messaging with a minor.

Dr Disrespect gained fame through his high-energy streams and distinctive persona, often streaming popular titles such as Call of Duty and Apex Legends. His ban from Twitch, shrouded in mystery, led to a lawsuit settled in 2022. Despite the controversy, he continued to stream on YouTube, maintaining a substantial following. His involvement in the gaming community extends to co-founding Midnight Society, a game development studio, which has also distanced itself following the recent allegations.
