The highly anticipated trailer for "The Iron Claw" has been unveiled, starring Hollywood heartthrob Zac Efron as the renowned professional wrestler, Kevin Von Erich. Efron's dramatic transformation into the muscular Kevin has fans abuzz, with many comparing him to the iconic superhero, He-Man.
"The Iron Claw", directed by Sean Durkin, tells the compelling true story of the prominent Von Erich brothers who made a significant impact in the high-stakes world of professional wrestling during the 1980s. They rose to prominence under their strict father and coach, Fritz Von Erich, a renowned three-time world champion.
In the trailer, Efron's character narrates about his family being believed to be cursed since his childhood. Overcoming the curse, the brothers' strength and prowess in wrestling became their protective shield. The film also showcases Jeremy Allen White and Harris Dickinson portraying Kerry and David Von Erich, respectively, completing the trio of the Von Erich brothers.
Efron's new muscular look and haircut in the trailer have prompted comparisons with He-Man, leading some fans to suggest that he would be a perfect cast for a potential live-action "Masters Of The Universe" movie. The film also features Stanley Simons, Holt McCallany, Maura Tierney, Lily James, and Aaron Dean Eisenberg in significant roles.
Scheduled for release on December 22, 2023, "The Iron Claw" stands as one of the major film events to look forward to. The movie will compete at the box office with Timothée Chalamet's "Wonka", DC's much-awaited "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom", and Michael Mann's sports biopic "Ferrari".
