Director Taika Waititi has confirmed he will not be involved in creating Thor 5. Despite his previous work on the successful Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder, Waititi is focusing on other projects, including an anticipated Star Wars film and an adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's "Klara and the Sun." With these projects lined up, he shares that another Thor movie would likely happen sooner than his schedule would permit. Even so, Waititi expresses his affection for Marvel and working with Chris Hemsworth, suggesting that his departure from the Thor series is amicable and that he's open to future collaborations.

Waititi has previously stated that he would return to the Thor franchise only if he could bring something surprising and unconventional to the table. IGN's review of Thor: Love and Thunder commended the film for its focus on romance and character development but noted it played it safe with the broader MCU story. As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand, Thor fans can stay tuned to learn more about the potential for Thor 5 and the evolving direction the franchise might take.
