The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep Film Pushed to February 2025

Sep 17, 2024 7:00 PM

Netflix's animated film The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep has been delayed to February 11, 2025, moving away from its original late 2024 release date. This information emerged during Netflix's Geeked Week, where a promotional video featured Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt of Rivia, introducing a scene involving Geralt and the bard Jaskier, voiced by Joey Batey. The film is inspired by the short story A Little Sacrifice, which is set in 1244 in the Witcher universe and explores Geralt's journey following a breakup with Yennefer. As Geralt and Jaskier travel with rival troubadour Essi, the trio finds themselves mediating a turbulent romance between a prince and a mermaid.

What is the plot of The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep?

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep follows Geralt of Rivia as he navigates his heartbreak from Yennefer and embarks on adventures with Jaskier, encountering rival troubadours and engaging in a love dispute involving a prince and a mermaid, all while introducing new characters and challenges to the familiar Witcher lore.

The Witcher franchise, originally based on Andrzej Sapkowski's novels, has garnered immense popularity through its video games and the Netflix series. The animated film adds a new layer to the Witcher universe, providing fans with deeper insights into the characters' backstories and expanding the lore surrounding Geralt as he grapples with personal and external conflicts.
