The Twitch app for Nintendo Switch is set to be discontinued effective 31st of January 2024. Yesterday, several app users received notification of the upcoming service discontinuation, which was later confirmed on Twitch's official website. This comes after a year since the app was added to the Switch in November 2021, allowing users to watch Twitch streams directly on the hybrid console. However, certain features have been missing since its release, including the inability to engage in chat activities or join channels. Despite the forthcoming withdrawal from Switch, a Twitch employee reassures that "Nintendo continues to be a valuable partner". As from 6th November, new users will not be able to download the app from the Nintendo eShop, while existing users can continue to use it until January 31, 2024.
