A Fistful of Dollars, the original spaghetti western that launched a genre, is getting a remake. Hollywood's shift from superhero flicks to reviving classic genres sees this iconic Clint Eastwood film returning to the big screen. Produced by Euro Gang Entertainment and Rome-based Jolly Film, details on the remake's cast, writer, and start date remain under wraps. Originally directed by Sergio Leone in 1964, A Fistful of Dollars follows a wandering gunman who pits two rival factions against each other. Notably, the film itself is an unlicensed remake of Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo, leading to a successful lawsuit by Toho.

The remake of A Fistful of Dollars is being produced by Euro Gang Entertainment, in collaboration with Gianni Nunnari, Simon Horsman, Enzo Sisti of FPC, and Jolly Film, the studio behind the original film.

Released in 1964, A Fistful of Dollars starred Clint Eastwood and was directed by Sergio Leone. The film was acclaimed for its gritty narrative and unique style, setting the tone for the spaghetti western genre. It spawned two sequels, For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, further cementing its legacy in cinema history.
