According to Bethesda, their exploratory space game Starfield has now amassed over ten million players as of September 20, 2023. This milestone comes just two weeks following its release, marking it the largest debut in Bethesda's history and one of 2023's most significant launches.

On the day of its release, Starfield quickly achieved a staggering number of over 230,000 concurrent players within the first two hours of early access on Steam. Significantly, the game set a record as Xbox's most played next-gen game ever on launch day, boasting one million concurrent players. A day after, the game's player count had already surged to over six million.

Furthermore, on September 20, the peak concurrent player count on Steam stood at a notable 330,723, although the exact number of players using the Game Pass or Steam is currently undetermined.

As Bethesda's first new intellectual property in over a quarter-century, its first to be set in space, and the first release following Microsoft’s acquisition, Starfield has already made a notable impact. Starfield’s unmatched popularity underscores Bethesda's capacity to construct engaging and captivating environments and exemplifies the growing popularity of sci-fi role-playing games. With over ten million players already, this game may soon establish itself as a landmark of its console generation.
