Star Wars Outlaws release teased for late this year

Jan 03, 2024 8:00 AM

Anticipated by fans, the upcoming title "Star Wars Outlaws" by Ubisoft may be slated for a release towards the end of 2023. Initially planned for a 2024 launch, a Disney Parks blog post briefly hinted at an end-of-year release for this open-world Star Wars game before being revised to a vaguer timeframe. Ubisoft has yet to announce an official release date, reiterating only the year 2024 as the expected launch period. In October, Ubisoft delayed two major games, including "Skull and Bones," fueling speculation that Star Wars Outlaws's release might have shifted from early to later in 2024.

"Star Wars Outlaws," described as the first-ever Star Wars open-world game, is set in the Star Wars universe between "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi." Players will take on the roles of Kay Vess and her companion Nix, aiming to pull off a massive heist. While featuring large open areas on various planets, the game is promised not to span hundreds of hours but rather to offer a focused action-adventure RPG experience. Developed by Massive Entertainment in collaboration with LucasFilm Games, Star Wars Outlaws is expected to arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.

Oh, that sneaky Disney Parks blog post sure got the hype train chugging for Star Wars Outlaws Here's hoping Massive Entertainment can deliver that epic, focused galaxy-heisting adventure without pulling a Cyberpunk 2077 on us with the early launch temptations. 🌌🎮 #StarWarsOpenWorld #GamingPatience

Dude, I'm getting major hype vibes from the accidental Disney Parks post about Star Wars Outlaws possibly dropping early—seems like the Force might be with us for a late 2023 release And knowing it's not just an open-world but a focused heist narrative set between Empire and Jedi I'm already dreaming about which planet I'll pull my first job on. Can't wait to see how Massive Entertainment will let us play out our galactic criminal fantasies

Disney's little slip-up on the park blog has all of us Star Wars fans scouring the galaxy for any hints of an early drop for Star Wars Outlaws, but I'm not holding my breath just yet—game delays are as common as droids in Mos Eisley these days. Still, the promise of heisting across the stars in that sweet spot of the Star Wars timeline has got the force flowing through my veins—here's to hoping Massive Entertainment can deliver that focused RPG action without falling to the dark side of prolonged development cycles. 🎮✨
