Sony announced the name for their upcoming streaming handheld for the PS5: the PlayStation Portal.
The device, priced at €219.99, is expected to launch later this year. It features an 8-inch LCD screen that allows gaming at a resolution of 1080p with 60 frames per second. The portal will also have half DualSense controllers on the sides offering haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
However, Sony emphasized that users won't be able to install PS5 games directly on the device. Instead, games will be installed on the console and then streamed to the handheld via the Remote Play application.
Prior to this announcement, Sony had revealed PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium games for August, along with wireless Pulse Elite headphones and Pulse Explore earbuds.
The only detail missing from the reveal is the specific launch date for the PlayStation Portal. Users are encouraged to follow the topic for notifications on updates.
