Sony removed all references of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake from its account, including tweets and the announcement trailer on YouTube. This mass deletion sparked rumors about the game's development status, especially as the game was allegedly in trouble last year. The game, originally developed by Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games, was slated to be released exclusively on PS5 and PC after its announcement in 2021. However, after reports of the project being put on hold and key directors being fired, the game's development was handed over to Saber Interactive.

Moreover, Embracer Group, the parent company which took charge after this shift, has been closing studios and canceling projects due to a failed $2 billion investment deal with Savvy Games Group from Saudi Arabia. As a result, it's speculated that the KOTOR remake might be suffering as a consequence of this fallout. Despite these issues, neither Sony nor Embracer Group have currently addressed the situation. This renowned game, considered one of the best video games ever, was expected to be released in 2022 as per the initial plan, following three years of development before its announcement.
